Writer/Producer/Story Editor/Show Developer/Teacher

Jymn has been in the animation business for over thirty years. He cut his cartoon teeth at
Walt Disney Television Animation where he created, wrote, and story edited #1 TV
series like GUMMI BEARS, DUCK TALES, RESCUE RANGERS, WINNIE THE POOH,
GOOF TROOP, and TALE SPIN. Besides his roles as Director of Product Development
and Senior Story Editor, he also functioned as producer, voice director, and pitch man.
His first feature film was the well-received A GOOFY MOVIE.

In 1993 Jymn went freelance working for MGM, Sony, Dreamworks, Henson, Saban,
American Greetings, Nelvana, SD Entertainment, and numerous overseas companies.
His work has been honored with seven Emmy nominations and one win. Jymn continues
to write and develop animation for television, and is presently working on animated
shows for the U.S., China, and Korea.

Before 1984, Magon was with Disneyland Records where he produced such musical
records as Mickey Mouse Disco (triple platinum), Goin’ Quackers, and Disney’s
Children’s Favorites 1 & 2. Besides dozens of Disney story records, he also produced
disks for other intellectual properties including Star Wars, E.T., Indiana Jones, Peanuts,
Rainbow Brite, and Gremlins. He has received 5 Grammy nominations and over 35 gold
records for his efforts.
Jymn also shares his knowledge by teaching various Animation Writing classes in
Germany, Russia, Finland, Spain, Australia, and at UCLA-Extension. His background is
diverse, including radio producer, disc jockey, stage actor/director, film sound technician,
songwriter, and artist. Jymn has also written for live action TV/film, stage, radio, books,
toys, ice shows, comic books, commercials, and ad copy. He is affiliated with the WGA,
ATAS, NARAS, ASCAP, Cartoonist Guild, and the Science Fiction Writers of America.
Magon lives in Southern California with his wife and 17-year-old son.
